Re: update |
i dont doubt his intellect - that is not what i meant by "quack" - it has to do more with his political stance and ideology.
i also dont have an issue with having both creationism and evolutionism taught together. neither has been proven or disproven to any extent (i believe it is a combination of the two). i never read she felt kids should believe the earth is 6k years old - maybe i missed the quotes.
i just dont trust obama's economic policies or his experience.

Re: update |
She has advocated teaching creationism in school and I have a HUGE problem with that. I'm all for teaching comparative religions to kids but people like Palin don't look at it that way, they want religious doctrine in the public school system. F*CK that! If I want my kids to be brainwashed I'll take them to church myself. Evolution etc. is a THEORY and should be taught as such. BUT it is a theory based on the scientific method which is THE most rational means we have that I know of to study test and observe our Universe.
As far as economic policy we'll just have to disagree but I definately don't trust the guy who claims he can balance the budget in the next four years. The same guy who has previously stated the economy isn't his strong suit. A comparative study of a non partisan tax group has examined both policies and guess which one is going to give my family the bigger relief?

i never read it as she wants to give creationism the heavy hand, but i may be incorrect. lord knows that is my strongsuit - lol. you are far more familiar with her than I (not sarcasm).
i dont believe there is a such thing as non-partisan tax studies. figures can be manipulated differently by many different individuals. if i TRULY believed Obama would save me tax money, i might persuade myself to vote for him. although his inexperience does worry me. (yes, i know Palin is a heartbeat away)
i just have a gut feeling Obama is PURE rhetoric.

Re: update |
her Religious stance didn't way too heavily on me because on the local and State level there's not as much to worry about. The Federal courts would knock anything extreme down not to mention Alaskans tend to be VERY libertarian which is usually fine by me. But having her potentially being in charge of education and Supreme court justice appointing? NO WAY
" i dont believe there is a such thing as non-partisan tax studies. figures can be manipulated differently by many different individuals."
True to on the latter but tax codes are tax codes. Loope holes are loopholes and the only people that I know of that have the smoke and mirrors to take advantage of loopholes are people with a lot more money than anyone I know has. The regular deduction is what the rest of us have.

agreed
but how confident are you that your regular deduction is going to be enhanced by the party that is historically known for taxing its citizens to pay for other programs. (yes, i know reps do this too - but nothing like the dems have done - sorry, i'm for taxachusetts - we know the horror)

Re: update |
I had a long winded reply but I don't want to bore everyone. Let's just say that Republicans have WASTED a TON more money in corporate giveaways. Exactly where do you think that money is and will come from? We're already seeing no funding for Federally MANDATED programs like no child left behind. Everybody's bitching about the cost of education but no one is addressing that.MANY were argueing who should pay while tons of people DROWNED while no one did shit about it to help but yet no one seems to question what we're spending money on that has been " lost" in Iraq because questioning our Government means we're terrorists.
I'd rather my taxes stay the same and the money actually go someplace that benefits our society. But that makes me a girlie liberal man I guess.

I'm all for handouts. I'm voting Obama, quitting my job, and then I'll kick back and ride the dole. The only bummer is that the band will be paying higher taxes. Wait!, they could become non-profit and play free shows. I knew Barry was the messiah. Free lunch and Ratdog!
